Selection Criteria & Application Orientations

SELECTION CRITERIA

(Effective April 2006)

How do I qualify?

	You have lived in West Orange County for 12 months or more;
	You have had the same job or source of verifiable income for 6 months or more;
	Your current home is extremely overcrowded; in poor condition or in an unsafe environment;
	You meet certain income guidelines:

Applicants should not qualify, thanks to assets or income, for low in-come loan programs through conventional sources. You will be asked to provide a current copy of your credit report. Applicants with multiple collections, charge-offs, or delinquent accounts within the past 3 years will be denied and referred to Consumer Credit Counseling Services; applicants with any liens or judgments will also be denied. All other credit histories will be evaluated on a case-by case basis.

	You will make a cash payment on closing;
	You are willing to live on a lot provided by Habitat;
	You are able and willing to work and contribute "sweat equity" (500 hours);
	Complete 10 Homeowner Education Workshops.
